In the second term, our students embarked on an incredible Model United Nations journey, showing remarkable growth. Let’s take a look at what they have done:

UUMUN Team Visits Our School

From March 10 to 19, our school hosted Jaya and Giulio from the UUMUN team at Utrecht University.

In-class training sessions: The UUMUN team conducted two sessions with our S4 girls in our English lessons. The first session introduced the girls to the fundamentals of MUN, while the second session was a mini-MUN simulation focused on the topic of Sustainable Development Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, allowing our girls to apply the skills they had acquired in the first session.

MUN Masterclass: For our more seasoned MUN participants, the UUMUN team delivered a specialized masterclass training on March 15. This session provided advanced tips and tricks on how to excel in MUN, including strategies on getting noticed by chairs during sessions.

Conference participation

Following UUMUN’s visit, our students participated in several MUN conferences:

HKBUMUN (April 11-13): 9 of our girls, including some who attended the masterclass, took part in the conference held in Hong Kong Baptist University, putting their training to good use.

SJCMUN (June 28-29): In the post-exam period, 21 of our girls participated in St. Joseph’s College’s inaugural MUN conference. We were especially happy to see half of this group comprise S4 students who were inspired to join after their initial training by the UUMUN team.

ISMUNHK (July 12-13): We concluded the school year with Inter-School Model United Nations Hong Kong, which took place in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. 13 of our girls participated, including two S1 girls who experienced MUN for the very first time.

We are immensely proud of all our girls for their dedication and passion in honing their speaking and negotiating skills by participating in MUN activities. Stay tuned for future MUN updates!
