We are immensely proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Form 5 students at the prestigious Hong Kong Science Fair 2025–2026 (第五屆香港創科展) ,
organized by the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation.
Guided by the theme “Think Big Be Innovative,” （大想頭、齊創新）our talented team from Class 5D designed “Slope Guardian”（山泥無得傾）—an advanced IoT-integrated landslide early warning system specifically tailored to Hong Kong’s unique terrains. Through meticulous slope model experiments simulating rainfall, the system identifies critical soil moisture thresholds. This data is transmitted in real time to the cloud and displayed on a mobile app’s interactive map. In high-risk scenarios, instant alerts are sent to both residents and the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), enabling timely evacuations and safeguarding the community.
(香港地形起伏、多斜坡，暴雨時發生山泥傾瀉風險高。「山泥無得傾」係一套物聯網預警系統，結合土壤濕度感測、GPS 同太陽能供電。系統實時監測斜坡狀況並上傳數據到雲端，一旦達到危險水平即發出警報，提示居民及早撤離，提升社區安全。 )
Thanks to their brilliant innovation, the team took home two major accolades: the Merit Award （優異獎） and the highly coveted Public Voting Award （最受歡迎大獎）!
