Our S6 student, Mok Cheuk Ki, has been awarded the 2nd Runner-up in the Community Contributor category at the SCMP Student of the Year Awards 2024-25.
Over the past few years, Cheuk Ki has shown remarkable dedication to building a more inclusive society, particularly through her service to students with special educational needs and ethnic minorities. In Secondary 5, despite her heavy study load, she even founded “Animal Blessing”, an international student-led organization focused on advocating for animal welfare. With over 100 volunteers from various age groups, she has spearheaded two notable projects: Green Pet Pals and Cozy Critters.
“Green Pet Pals is an award-winning initiative that transforms upcycled clothing into pet toys through workshops with diverse groups. This project has benefited more than 100 individuals and produced over 300 toys for animal shelters. Cozy Critters, on the other hand, is a collaborative towel donation drive that successfully collected 390 items from schools across Hong Kong to keep animals warm during the cold winter months. Through these projects, Cheuk Ki has experienced the profound interconnectedness of all living beings and the vital role of community collaboration in striving for sustainability.”
