Breathing Green: “Green Lung” Project Named Finalist and Award Winner at HKSSC 2026

We are pleased to share the recent participation of our students in the Hong Kong Student Science Competition 2026, which took place on April 12th and 18th at the Hong Kong Design Institute, Tiu Keng Leng. Representing the school, a team from class 4C—comprising Yu Hong En, Hui Tsz Yin, and Sin Ka Yau—presented their project titled “Green Lung,” an invention focused on the pursuit of negative carbon emissions.

The project was the result of months of diligent research, testing, and refinement. We appreciate the perseverance demonstrated by the team as they navigated the complexities of their scientific inquiry. Out of 250 participating teams from across the region, our students were selected as one of the 20 finalists invited to the final stage of the competition.

Throughout the event, the team had the chance of presenting their work to panels of professional judges as well as visiting members of the public. This experience also provided a valuable opportunity for our students to engage with peers from other schools, allowing them to exchange ideas and observe a diverse range of scientific projects.

During the final judging, the team’s efforts were recognized with an Honorable Mention and the Sustainable Development Award. We commend these students for their hard work and for the thoughtful way they represented our school throughout this experience.
