The workshop, which is organized by Jennifer Yu Cheng Girls Impact Foundation (“JYCGIF”) and Hang Seng Bank, gives students the opportunity to learn more about digital banking and the modern office environment. Students found it beneficial to understand the career path in the banking area as well as the abilities required in a real-world job.  All of this has broadened their horizons.

TLamp, the True Light Alumni Mentorship Programme, is designed to provide career guidance and support to S.4 and S.5 students by pairing them with mentors who are alumni of the school. The event is a precious opportunity not only for the alumni to reunite with their school friends, but also for the mentees to connect with mentors from industries they are interested in. 

This year, the 12th TLamp Opening Ceremony was successfully held on April 22, 2023 in the evening at New Life Social Enterprise Restaurant. The mentees were divided into small groups and paired with their mentors to enjoy a Networking Dinner.

The event began with a welcome speech by the Principal, and an introduction to TLamp by the True Light Alumni Mentorship Programme Committee. Following the opening speeches, our student representative and the TLamp Committee expressed their gratitude for the mentors, and presented souvenirs to them. A group photo was taken to capture the treasured moment at which the mentors and mentees gathered together.  

The highlight of the Ceremony was the Table Manner Talk led by Ms. Regina Chan, a Language Training Specialist of Cathay Pacific. Students learned about the basics of the American and Continental dining etiquette and immediately put it into practice during the meal. What’s more, our student representatives prepared an interactive table game that both the mentors and mentees enthusiastically participated in.

Overall, the opening ceremony was a great success, and everyone left feeling inspired and motivated to make the most of the mentorship programme. TLamp promises to be a valuable experience for both the mentors and mentees, and everyone is looking forward to the upcoming sessions.

We are delighted to announce that two teams of students from our school participated in the Hong Kong Student Science Competition 2023 (HKSSPC 2023) held on April 22-23, 2023 at the Hong Kong Design Institute.

Our students showcased their innovative inventions and performed scientific investigations, presenting their ideas in front of a distinguished panel of judges as well as students and teachers from other schools. We are proud of our students’ hard work, dedication and passion for science. Congratulations to both teams on their exceptional performance at the HKSSPC 2023!
